Of course, the fact that we welcome all couples shouldn’t need saying – but rest assured that we are very gay friendly here at The Old Barn. One of the first events at The Old Barn wedding venue in North Devon was a same sex celebration – in fact, it was one of the owners of the barn Tara Stanbury’s civil partnership to her partner Lou that inspired the family to open it to other couples so they could enjoy it as much as they had.

We are proud to offer a fantastic DIY wedding venue (with a surprise after-party) for all of our guests, whether they want their ceremony here or just a reception.

About The Old Barn

As one of the most unique wedding venues in North Devon, The Old Barn is just perfect for those who want to make their big day totally special. We’ve converted our gorgeous 17th century oak beamed barn into a unique setting that can comfortably accommodate 118 people for a ceremony or seated meal and up to 200 for a reception – though it works very well for smaller groups too.

Attached to the barn is a beautiful conservatory, which for much of the year is covered in grape vines and wisteria, with large windows overlooking a private garden with space for a tepee or small marquee. And the biggest surprise is that, despite the otherwise rural setting, it is tucked away in the corner of a fun park – which means brilliant fun taking photos on the dodgems and bouncing pillows!

Couples have the freedom to go for a completely DIY wedding here, use the wedding professionals of their choice, or ask us to recommend trusted local suppliers.

Family-run and set in a beautiful rustic location just a mile from the picture perfect village of Clovelly in North Devon, we also offer you and your guests (old and young!) the added excitement of playing on our fabulous dodgems, and lots of totally unique photo opportunities.
