Fun & Quirky
We offer fantastic opportunities for fun and quirkiness here at The Old Barn – not just when it comes to your photographs, but for your celebration as a whole, as we are tucked away on the edge on The Milky Way fun park.
Couples and their guests can have exclusive access to our indoor dodgems, which makes for a brilliant time as well as great photos; some couples choose to have their first dance on the track, as well as getting great shots of them letting their hair down and have fun.
Whilst wedding parties can’t have exclusive access to the rest of the park, they are welcome to have photos taken in various locations around it – the day visitors are always very amenable to this!
The outdoor bouncing pillows are brilliant for getting fun group shots – couples often choose to gather together their closest friends for this, but you could try to get your granny on too, if she’s game. Photos taken on the roller coaster are very popular too – just take a look at the priceless expressions captured on our couples above. Another great backdrop is our Sci-fi exhibit – it’s not often you see couples with light sabres in their formal photos. And whereas our vintage haycart is great for a rustic look (see below), it’s also been the scene of some great fun shots too.
Quiet moments
Of course, you also want beautiful images that capture what your big day is really all about – just the two of you.
Most couples choose to have their ceremony in the vine and wisteria-clad conservatory, which is flooded with natural light, and makes for some wonderful in-the-moment shots.
Following this, we have acres of grounds, including wooded areas in which to get some shots of you enjoying some time together. The conservatory is also great for this, once the guests have moved into the barn for drinks – its stone walls and greenery looked great in Hazel & Richard’s couples’ time shots (see above and in their gallery album).
Our rustic haycart in the field in front of The Old Barn is great for some more romantic shots, as well as fun ones – see above! And if you really want an hour or so alone together, then pop 2 miles down the road to Clovelly – see above for one of the beautiful shots that Sophie & Danny had taken, and see more in their gallery album here.
Group shots
Whether you choose formal group photos or candid ‘unawares’ shots (or a mixture of the two), you’ll want images that will remind you of the loved ones who joined you on your big day.
At The Old Barn you’ll have a choice of picturesque locations for formal shots – whether outside in the paddock, or indoor in the barn or conservatory. And as there’s lots of space at The Old Barn for your post-ceremony celebrations your photographer will have many opportunities to capture images of your guests as they relax and enjoy themselves.
